“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."  John 3:16

Perhaps one of the most famous verses in the Bible, John 3:16 takes place during an encounter with Jesus.  A Pharisee (a Jewish ruler and scholar) named Nicodemus comes to Jesus at night.  Nicodemus has questions.  He is truly seeking after something.  The conversation develops into an opportunity for Christ to define what it means to be born again.  He uses illustrations that Nicodemus understands and takes a concept that perhaps seemed abstract and makes it accessible.

What about us?  Are we able to come to Jesus with the questions we have and surrender them to His authority?  Nicodemus is an example that we can follow.  His encounter left him walking away with more answers than questions and I believe, a peace followed.  The Bible doesn't give us a thorough account about what happened to him after this conversation.  But it does leave us some clues that lead us to believe his encounter was life-changing and life-defining.
