Fighting With The Right Weapon — 2 Corinthians 10:4,5 (My Favorite Verses)
Show Notes

This week we are diving into a verse that perhaps isn't too popular for many people.  I grew up listening to various genres of Christian music and one band I heard (a metal group), had a song with this verse in it.  So every time I heard the song, I was reminded of the verse:  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;).  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.  2 Corinthians 10:4,5 (KJV)

Really what this verse is about is the battle we face as believers:  a fight between the forces of evil and the truth of Christ.  This battle must be fought through the weapon of prayer and Scripture.  Paul, the author of these verses, reminds us that it is in our thoughts where this battle starts.  We must take thoughts captive and obedient to Christ.  When we do, we help rewire our brains for truth and refute the lies of the enemy.
